Selim has over 15 years of experience working globally in successful technology start-ups as part of the founding team.

Since the beginning of his career, Selim has been one of the early protagonists to build, scale-up, and mature global tech businesses in the digital space and on-demand industry. He has a broad experience across a variety of disciplines including technology entrepreneurship, product management, strategy, channel management, government relations, and general management.

Before joining Careem, Selim was part of the founding team in the Toluna Group, a European start-up providing independent online panel and survey technology to the global market research industry. Toluna went public in an IPO in the London AIM market later for $275M. Since Careem’s inception, he led the technological part of the business as well as strategic initiatives and regional technology partnerships that helped fuel Careem’s growth, ensure geographical expansion, and secure significant market share growth.

Selim is quadrilingual (Arabic, French, Italian and English) and holds an EMBA from INSEAD and a Master’s degree in Statistics & Econometrics from Toulouse School of Economics, France.
