Christos Sermpetis

McKinsey & Company | Partner

A Partner in McKinsey & Company’s Dubai office, Christos leads the Operations Practice in the Middle East. Christos serves leading energy and industrial institutions across Europe, Africa, Asia as well as the Middle East, which has been his primary focus for the past 7+ years. His commitment to the Middle East is based on a deep belief in the “Resource Revolution” and the new frontiers it creates for the global energy, materials, food, and water sectors.

Christos supports resource shapers in the region in their transformation efforts—in particular, their journey to operational efficiency, agility, and cost control. His areas of expertise include upstream and downstream oil and gas operations, mining, chemicals, base metals and industrial minerals. Christos has led a number of large-scale transformations for organisations, focusing his efforts on increasing asset availability, optimizing yields, improving maintenance processes, standardizing operations, and reducing unit cost. In all cases, these transformations entail shifting institutions’ performance culture and building new capabilities at scale. Prior to joining McKinsey, Christos worked in the technology and advisory services in Switzerland and Greece.

Christos holds a Master’s degree in Management and Engineering from MIT and a Master’s degree in Engineering and Computer Science from the École polytechnique fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL).
